How and When the "Variety" Pictures Are Selected:

As of yet (Winter 2001-2), most of the old pictures in the variety pages haven't been updated for quite some time. Since we now have an ongoing perpetual online show for our new pictures that come in, we will be updating current pictures on an ongoing basis. We took a vote in October 2001 via the club message board to pick everybody's favorites to see featured on the Featured Variety pages. The top votes went to Ginger Red, Splash, Silver Duckwing, Blue, Lemon Blue, Quail, Blue Quail, Brassyback, and Blue Brassyback. Therefore we will update the variety pages in roughly that order.

First the winners of the Virtual Show will be posted on the Featured Variety page with photos and description of the variety from the Standard, and the corresponding Variety page will be updated with those birds and all others that are appropriate representations of that variety. We will leave that page on display for a month or so, and then move on to the next variety. The old Featured Variety page will be moved to the Library.

If you'll take a look at the Ginger Reds variety page, you will see how it will be. The best as chosen by our panel of judges will be placed on the front of the varieties pages, and the others will be shown separately on another page or pages. As long as a judge does not disqualify a bird, all the photos will remain on the site indefinitely, with credit given to the owners/breeders after judging is final.

By majority vote of the panel of picture judges, the identities of the judges will remain anonymous as it stands now. Rest assured and trust us that they all three are experts on the breed and knowledgeable about the ABA Standard of Perfection, which they will use to evaluate our birds pictured in the photos we submit to the Virtual Show.
