Inserting the HTML fragment in
your home page:
1. Open your home page in your web page design program. If you
don't have a web page design and editing program, many good ones
are available as freeware. Use one that does not automatically
modify your coding when you save your file.
2. If you have a WYSIWYG (visual) web page program, find the
function of the program that allows you to edit your HTML
directly. Alternatively, you may copy the visual example of the
code fragment as shown on the code page you received onto your
visual page. See "Inserting the code using WYSIWYG only".
3. Copy the code fragment into your HTML of your page in the
position you want the fragment to appear. The easiest way to
place it is at the bottom of the page, before the tag "/body".
Include the portion of the code beginning with the tag "Begin
Old English Game Bantam Code" and ending with the tag "End
Old English Game Bantam Code".
4. Save your page.
5. On the internet, go to the site where you keep your home page.
6. Upload your new page you saved to your site. You may overwrite
the page that is residing there now. It is a good idea to back up
the old home page before overwriting it in case there is a
problem with the new one.
7. Your home page is now online with the new Old English Game
Bantam Ring web ring code fragment in place.
8. Go back to steps 6 through 8 in "Joining the web
ring".
Inserting the code using WYSIWYG only
NOTE: If your web page editing program resides online, follow the
same directions when you are at your web site.
NOTE: If you use a web publishing service to provide you with
your web pages, the above directions may not apply. You may want
to contact your publishing service and inform them that you wish
to add a web ring fragment to your site. They will want the URL
to your fragment as given you when you joined.
