Joining the web ring:

1. To join the ring, you will need to have a web page. If you don't have one already, they are free and simple to make. There are several sites that provide free web space for home pages. Many of them have a web page editing program built into the service.

2. There is a link on the ring home page that leads to the entry form. Filling out this form will give you a site number and enter you in the ring queue. The queue is where members' sites are held until they have a working web ring HTML code fragment installed on their home page.

3. After sending the entry form, you will get an email from WebRing verifying that you have submitted your site for evaluation for the ring. Read that email carefully, it gives you your site number, tells you where to get your HTML code fragment for the ring, and some other important instructions.

4. The ringmaster will get an email stating that your new site number has been submitted for entry in the ring. The ringmaster will be on alert that you have your ring fragment codes and that your site is pending installation of the code fragment.

5. Copy the ring fragment into the HTML of you web page. Put it in the position that you want the fragment to appear. Be sure to put it on the page you gave to WebRing for your home page URL. The code checker will not search your site for the code, only the home page.

NOTE: If you are not familiar with web publishing, please read the directions on "
Inserting the HTML fragment in your home page", and on "Inserting the code using WYSIWYG only".

6. Notify the ringmaster that you have your code fragment in place on your home page.

7. The ringmaster will go to the queue and run your web page fragment through the code checker to verify that it is operational.

8. If the code appears to work, your site will be added to the ring.

9. You will be informed by email of your status as a new member of the Old English Game Bantam Ring web ring.

Your site is now linked to all the other sites in the ring, and anyone may travel through the ring from site to site in the ring by using the link in the fragment.

Thank you for joining, and welcome to the Old English Game Bantam Ring web ring !!! :>) *
