The Cochins

One of the feather-footed breeds, these chickens tend to be friendly and tame. I wonder if their feathers keep their feet warm in the winter.

These Buff Cochins were the first purebred bantams we bought. They came from Kent, WA in May, 2000, at about 3 months old. They are very sweet and friendly. Everyone likes them a lot.

This is the same pair in February, 2001. They are parent birds now.

This pretty pair of Black Cochins came from Kentucky in June, 2000. They are about 2 months old here. They are very shy.

These Red Cochin chicks hatched June, 2000. They're a couple of days old here. They hatched from eggs from Wisconsin. They turned out to be a pair, and they're huge now.
